This custom equestrian entry was designed and fabricated in-house, built to reflect both the property’s purpose and its architecture. The four stone columns were constructed around a structural steel core, providing long-term stability and load-bearing strength for the automated gate system. Each column was engineered to support the weight and movement of the custom steel gate while maintaining precise alignment over time.
The stone was carefully selected to complement the surrounding landscape and existing architecture, blending natural texture with the clean lines of the steelwork. Hand-poured concrete caps were formed and finished on site to create a substantial, balanced profile that visually anchors the entry.
The gates feature real, full-size #3 horseshoes integrated into the upper rail — not decorative cutouts, but true forged elements that anchor the design. The column lanterns were carefully selected to mirror the same curve of the horseshoes, creating a cohesive architectural line from steel to stone. The entire installation was completed by Travis. Scope of work included:
Excavation and reinforced concrete piers
Structural steel column cores
Stone veneer installation
Hand-formed column caps
Custom gate fabrication
LiftMaster automated opener
Keypad access and underground magnetic exit system
Every phase — from foundation to final calibration — was owner-led and executed in-house. The result is a fully automated equestrian entry that combines structural integrity, architectural cohesion, and long-term durability.
Built deliberately. Built to last.
We partnered with the property owners to create a permanent security entrance that feels native to the land and architecture. The design pairs a custom Heritage-series steel gate set with stone columns, delivering a classic, high-strength entry that’s built to last. A solar-powered LiftMaster® opener with keypad access provides reliable, off-grid automation and day-to-day convenience.
This entrance was a true start-to-finish build by Travis, who hand-crafted every element on site. He poured the concrete bases, blocked up the stone columns, and completed all of the masonry work himself to ensure perfect alignment and durability, complete with the hand-poured concrete column caps. The project features two 12-foot steel gates, custom fabricated and finished in-house, then installed and leveled with precision to meet the existing drive grade. Once the gates were mounted, Travis also handled the setup and installation of the solar automation system, resulting in a smooth, quiet, and reliable operation.
The finished entrance combines form and function—a timeless, durable structure that enhances both the security and beauty of the property for years to come.
These gates were originally built to sell, and they couldn’t have found a better home. It was a double win for us—we not only met some truly wonderful people, but the gates now stand proudly on the farm of a very special couple.
A stunning set of artistic heritage gates we were honored to design and build for incredible customers who quickly became friends!
This project was truly an honor to create and now stands proudly on one of the most beautiful farms in Missouri.
